A World I Want to Meet

LyricsEnglishShowHide
MOVEMENT I - ROOTS
There are depths beneath these feet no morning ever touched. Old fires sleeping under stone. Old names that still have weight.
I do not turn away from them. They breathe beneath my skin. Roots descend into the dark. My face is to the sun. And both are mine.
MOVEMENT II - THE LIGHT
Light falls across my shoulders and finds no empty man. It meets the depth within me. It meets the ground on which I stand.
I do not shine because I'm untouched. I shine with everything I am. Every shadow gives me depth. Every wound has taught me weight. And still- there is so much light.
CHORUS
Earth beneath me. Heaven above. Darkness in my roots. Sunlight in my blood.
I stand between them, open to them both. Deep enough for sorrow. Wide enough for joy.
There is fire in my heart that asks for nothing in return. I do not reach for the light. I burn.
MOVEMENT III - RADIANCE
Let my warmth fill this place without asking who will stay. Let my hands remain open without fearing what may leave.
There is strength enough for gentleness. There is depth enough for tears. There is light enough within me to illuminate the years.
I see mountains. I see oceans. I see faces yet unknown. Not as things that I must conquer. As a world I want to know.
A world I want to meet.
FINAL MOVEMENT - SOVEREIGN LIGHT
I am earth. I am breath. I am blood. I am flame.
I carry night within me without becoming night. I carry wounds within me without becoming pain. I carry light within me- and give it room.
FINAL CHORUS
Earth beneath me! Heaven above! Darkness in my roots! Sunlight in my blood! Let the mountains hear me breathe. Let the morning know my name.
I have room for all I've carried. I have room for what may come.
There is no war inside this light. There is depth. There is warmth. There is life. And there is more than enough.
ENDING
The world is waiting. And I meet it with the sun in my eyes.
